Communication Therapy:
You will learn how to Understand the Basics of Communication. You will know how to connect through verbal and non-verbal communication, body language, listening skills, being a sounding board for others, and finally how to be assertive in communication.
There are Four methods of Communication, we all have all four, but the order that we operate in is different therefore we need to understand the four perceptions, to have clear communication, and understanding of others.
This is a brief outline of the four perceptions.
Perception of Knowing:
When in balance this perception make for good executives because they are good at delegating to others and keeping in touch with the big picture. This Perception may know but may not always know how it knows. Doubt is its downfall.
Out-of-balance this perception wants to know everything that is going on and likes to be in control. It daydreams about the future. It can be lazy, over indulgent, untidy and judgmental. This perception's opposite is the perception of seeing and if they don’t understand each others method of communication they can have troubles.
Perception of Seeing:
When in balance this perception will organise & rationalise through images. They can have a photographic mind. They are good organisers and like everything in its place. This Perception brings beauty & co-ordination to the environment
Out-of-balance this perception is a perfectionist that judges, nit-picks, has an out-of-sight, out-of-mind attitude, doesn’t listen, and can do things to bring attention to themselves. This perception's opposite is the perception of knowing and if they don’t understand one other they can have troubles.
Perception of Hearing:
When in balance this perception is a good leader and manager. They like fairness & and honesty, they can be very straight & may communicate with few words. This Perception makes decisions easily but likes to work with the facts.
Out-of-Balance this perception can be blunt, aggressive, demanding and over-sensitive to sound. The opposite of this perception is the perception of feeling and if they don't understand each other they can easily hurt or frustrate each other.
Perception of Feeling:
When in balance this perception is receptive to the universal flow and may be the first to sense opportunities or changes. This perception is sensitive to the environment, is enthusiastic, and prefers to work with others. This perception needs detail and communicates with a lot of details when expressing itself.
Out-of-Balance this perception can get lost in the details, pick up on other's feelings and think they are theirs. It can feel sorry for itself and will manipulate & create drama for attention. This perception is prone to depression. This perception’s opposite is the perception of hearing and if the two don’t understand each other they can frustrate each other, with the what feels like endless chatter from one & the need for silence from the other.
Interaction of the Four Perceptions:
When we understand the 4 perceptions we can learn how to communicate with each other effectively. We can change our approach to meet another's way of communication .This is a simple and effective method of understanding that really does work.
